The new wastewater treatment system has been started up and operates in consistent compliance with the NYS DEC discharge permit. The Village of Palmyra, Town of Palmyra, Town of Macedon, Town of Walworth, and Town of Marion sewer flows are all being successfully conveyed to the new treatment system. The pump stations at each location are working well and the treatment system is stabilized and provides exceptional treatment.
All construction is considered “substantially complete” with the exception of Contract 1: Palmyra WWTP and Contract 3: Electrical
September 2025 Update
September 2025 – Western Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant has been operational for approximately 3 months, with wastewater flows being received from the Village of Palmyra, Town of Marion and Town of Macedon. The majority of the former Village of Palmyra wastewater treatment plant has been demolished. Decommissioning of the Marion and Macedon wastewater treatment plants is underway.
Anticipated October 2025 – Walworth Pump Station flows to come online.
Anticipated September – December 2025 – Final decommissioning and site restoration at all sites to be completed.
